The Nigerian sports team, Super Eagles moved three places up in the latest ranking list released by the governing football body, FIFA.
FIFA released the latest ranking list on its official website on Thursday, February 10th, 2022. The Nigerian sports team moved up to 32nd in the world and third among the African countries.
Nigerian Super Eagles were part of the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations which was hosted in Cameroon. The Nigerian sports team was knocked out in the round of 16 by their North African counterparts, Tunisia. The Super Eagles opponent at the FIFA World Cup qualifier, Ghana are ranked seventh in Africa and 52nd in the world.
Winners of the Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal moved to 18th in the world on the ranking this is their highest ranking ever. The AFCON runners-up, Egypt and Cameroon are 4th and 5th in Africa respectively, the North Africans are 34th in the world while the Indomitable Lions are 38th in the world.
Belgium remains the best country in the world, the Samba boys of Brazil are second while France retains their third place. Argentina are 4th while England are in the 5th position.
