Rivers State University Man O’ War harassed a Student on Campus

Precious Worgu, a student of Mechanical Engineering, RSU was abducted and harassed by the school’s Man O’ War security on campus.

According to reports, Man O’ War security met Precious Worgu on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 at an eatery close to Ecobank on campus and picked him.

It was said allegations were made that he robbed a girl at gunpoint on October 21, 2021 around 7pm at the faculty of engineering block demanding her and later on money. But the victim refused saying, the phone is precious to her and moreover there was no money on her except in the hostel. He insisted she go to the hostel (NDDC) and get the money for him, which she did, giving him five thousand naira (N5,000).

After he was told these, he requested to see the girl who made the allegations to confirm he was the one, but his request was denied and the security body started beating him.

Along the line, a girl named Praise, colleague of Precious, approached the security body saying, Precious is not like that, he cannot do such a thing but she was ignored.

As reported, the Man O’ War later demanded the sum of thirty-five thousand naira (N35,000) to close the case but he refused and insisted to make a call which he was allowed to, then he called his elder brother who took this case to the School’s Security post, where the Man O’ War were asked why they should beat a Student even if guilty or not, without the consent and knowledge of the School’s Security Department.
