Gthree Mayami Talks About The Problems Faced In Port Harcourt Music Industry
“Most Times In Port Harcourt Na We Be Our Problem”, Says Gthree Mayami
Nigerian Port Harcourt based fast-rising Afrobeat singer and songwriter, Gthree Mayami has made a publication about the problems faced in Port Harcourt music industry.
Mayami made this known via a post on his socials where he talked about his experience.
“Most times in Port Harcourt na we be our problem” — Gthree Mayami.
According to him, earlier this year he wanted to feature an artiste from Lagos but didn’t have the exact plug so he reached out to someone who he felt could be of help. After much discussion with this individual, he requested for the artiste’s phone number so he can reach out to him on his proposal, but this individual refused rather saying he (Gthree) should pass through him as it would be easier.
After a week he was messaged by this individual who later said the manager of the artiste requested for a consultation fee of N100,000 but pleaded they should accept N50,000 that once he (Gthree) pays they would know he’s serious because there is a saying that most Port Harcourt male artistes are never serious for business. So, he told this individual to forget about the business.
He continued, that just 3 days ago he went straight to the artiste’s handle on Instagram and chatted the artiste directly, and to his surprise he got a reply and an apology for replying late, the artiste dropped his manager’s number and business discussions commenced.
Mayami said, he noticed there was nothing like pride because he was told by the other individual that the manager got pride. So he asked the manager if anyone messaged him about any proposal earlier this year and he got NO! as an answer. He said, he went further to show the manager the photos of that individual and got a shocking response that the individual has been begging to be part of their team and they don’t request for any consultation fee.
Gthree Mayami said he was so pissed off and messaged the individual to explain the responses he got rather than a listening ear and an apology, this individual BLOCKED HIM!
That’s so bad!!!!
